Eileen has a wide repertoire of dances in a range of styles and her sessions always give a varied mix of traditional and modern English dance and American squares and contras. She not only calls in Sheffield but also at Worksop, Gainsborough and various dance weekends and holidays.
Anne danced and called in Kent for over 25 years before moving to Sheffield in 2007. She now calls at many of the Sheffield clubs and the U3A group and has also called at Nottingham and Holmfirth as well as at several of the major Folk Festivals. Her evenings are made up of a variety of traditional Playford, modern English dances, American squares and contras and possibly even an occasional Scottish dance.
Denise started dancing in 1978, and has been calling regularly since 2008, mainly at Kirk Sandall, but also for the Camping Club Folk Group, Rotherham U3A and a few other places. Denise enjoys calling a variety of styles of dance including Playford, traditional English and American contras.
Neil started calling for the occasional ceilidh about 25 years ago, but since moving to North Derbyshire 20 years ago, started to call more often and now calls regularly for dance clubs, evening dances and ceilidhs. He calls most types of dance – especially Playford, English, and American contras – including many of his own compositions (he has to date published three books of his dances). He runs the Spire Folk Dance Club in Brimington, Chesterfield, and has called for FISY dances and workshops (and he still plays in two Merseyside-based ceilidh bands!).
Jean has organised and called for her own group at Braithwell for 21 years. She has also run a Folk Dance holiday in Scarborough since 2009. Playford dances are her delight and in this she is joined by her 17th century display team of 25 dancers. Her aim is to reach a good standard of dancing in a fun atmosphere.
Julian calls a range of dances including his own compositions. In addition to calling for the Sheffield groups, he also calls at Worksop and Gainsborough, and has run workshops at various dance events throughout the country.
Shirley started dancing nearly 40 years ago and has been calling for about 10 years. She now calls for groups in Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. She is based in Wakefield and calls a variety of dances in the Playford and traditional English styles.
Sonia started calling over 40 years ago when she took over the Mosborough Folk Dance Club. She calls new and old dances in the Playford, Traditional English and American styles. She calls at most of the local clubs including the Rotherham and Sheffield U3A groups and has also called at clubs in Lincoln, Gainsborough, Nottingham and Malton.
